Community Design Project

Site Understanding

Physical Survey

A basic physical survey was undertaken to act as the base layer for all the site information. The plan can be downloaded as a PDF using this link - Physical Survey

Site Character

The site was assessed by the group to describe how it currently feels. The most common feeling was one of wasted space. Peopole also felt that the site was dull, unkempt and boring but had a great deal of potential. Click here for photographs of the site as it is now.

Analysis

The group carried out a SWOT analysis to clarify the basic information found and capture any other thoughts they had about the site in it's current state.

Weaknesses

  • Community group support
  • Increased use of the site
  • Low railings - allow easy access
